Job Description

Reed Further Education are seeking an experienced GCSE/Functional Skills Maths Lecturer who also has experience delivering help to FE Students for a client based in Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire.The role is a temporary ongoing role looking for an immediate start.Location: CambridgeDuration - Temporary/PermanentRate - £20 to £25 P/HProvide high quality teaching and access to learning. It is expected that the post holder will contributeto course design, development of programmes and the expansion of the area generally.To teach GCSE English/Functional Skills English to learners from Entry Level to Level 2, within thepart-time adult provision.The primary duties, tasks and responsibilities of this job role are to;

  • Deliver high quality teaching and learning, both face-to-face and online, to a timetable that may include evening, Saturday and non- term times.
  • Deliver inspirational teaching and access to learning across a range of programmes.
  • Provide teaching and assessment opportunities in line with the relevant awarding body requirements to promote access to achievement.Prepare and adapt teaching materials including handouts, assignments, booklists and assessment papers, to enable all learners to progress.
  • Prepare Schemes of Work and Schemes of Assessment.Undertake the necessary administrative tasks required for the effective operation of programmes in the area.
  • Carry out moderation/ assessment and verification.Integrate personal development themes and behaviour and attitude themes into the delivery model.
What you will need
  • A-Level Literacy and Numeracy qualification equivalent or above.Teaching qualification or willingness to gain.
  • Experience in teaching GCSE/Functional Skills Maths
  • Flexibility to work evenings and mornings as required
  • Experience of preparing students for Functional Skills/GCSE Exams
  • Familiarity with computer applications, particularly word processing, spreadsheet and database software (ideally Office 365).
  • Strong verbal and written communication. To be able to communicate confidently face to face, on the telephone, via video call/Teams as well as in writing.
Successful applicants will be required to undergo a DBS check.
