Job Title: LecturermathematicsDirectorate: School of Maths, InternationalAcademy: Part-time adultReporting To: Team Leader / Head of DepartmentThe primary purpose of this job role is to;Provide high quality teaching and access to learning. It is expected that the post holder will contributeto course design, development of programmes and the expansion of the area generally.To teach GCSE Mathematics/Functional Skills Maths to learners from Entry Level to Level 2, withinthe part-time adult provision.The primary duties, tasks and responsibilities of this job role are to;1. Deliver high quality teaching and learning to a timetable that may include evening, Saturday andnon- term times. Face to face teaching and on line delivery.1.1. Deliver inspirational teaching and access to learning across a range of programmes.1.2. Provide teaching and assessment opportunities in line with the relevant awarding bodyrequirements to promote access to achievement.1.3. Prepare and adapt teaching materials including handouts, assignments, booklists andassessment papers, to enable all learners to progress.1.4. Prepare Schemes of Work and Schemes of Assessment.1.5. Undertake the necessary administrative tasks required for the effective operation ofprogrammes in the area1.6. Carry out moderation/ assessment and verification.1.7. Contribute to the College quality cycle.1.8. Integrate personal development themes and behaviour and attitude themes into the deliverymodel.1.9. Interview and assess students, ensuring appropriate ILPs are developed for all learnersMeet study support procedures and ensure all CRC study support paperwork is completedaccurately, timely and returned to MIS for audit and funding claims.2. Undertake tutorial responsibilities.2.1. Track and review student progress and maintain student records using Markbook andPromonitor.2.2. Provide feedback on progress to the student in 1:1 meetings.2.3. Arrange and support progression/career guidance of students.3. Assist in the recruitment and admission of new students.3.1. Assist in recruitment and admission of new students.3.2. Attend promotional events to publicise College and departmental activities.3.3. Contribute to the compilation of publicity materials.4. Team administration, liaison and development4.1. Communicate effectively with other team members.4.2. Participate in team meetings and course team reviews and evaluation.4.3. Respond to curriculum development and new course initiatives originating fromwithin the department/College.4.4. Advise on resource requirements for effective implementation of programmes.4.5. Undertake course leadership responsibilities and duties, as allocated.4.6. Liaise with external awarding bodies representatives e.g. External Verifiers/moderators.Complete all administrative tasks in a timely manner5. Professional development and industrial links.5.1. Develop industrial links with other professionals within the industry.5.2. Maintain personal research or professional practice in own specialist area for own personalprofessional development.5.3. Familiarise yourself with and adhere to CRC college procedures.6. Know and abide by Health and Safety rules within the College and external premises.7. Employer and community responsiveness7.1. Able to travel independently to teach at either campus or other venues and attend externalmeetings.
