Job Description

TEC Partners are pleased to be working with an exciting high tech business, supporting their growth plans. Due to navigating the last year successfully, they are looking to recruit a Physicist / Materials Scientist to join their Product and Process Development team.This role will form an integral part of the product and process development team, which will help develop, improve and deliver material technologies and solutions. This company are in the process of developing revolutionary products for imaging and detection applications by the conversion of multiple different radiations.Materials Scientist Role

  • Involves product and process development of a wide range of relevant products
  • Process Development will include developing new processes, bringing new products online and upgrading existing products to improve performance and reliability
  • Responsible for transferring process improvements into production and providing hands-on support to the production team
  • Materials Scientist Experience & SkillsEssentials:
  • Vacuum deposition experience including familiarity with control, automation, and data capture.
  • Excellent data analysis, reporting and presentation skills
  • An excellent degree in Physics / Materials Science (or relevant field)
  • 3+ years experience of process development within a high technology environment, ideally with an emphasis on vacuum deposition of thin film materials
  • Demonstrable track record of structured and methodical problem solving
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with the production team to transfer new processes into production
  • The ability to communicate effectively with external partners
  • Versatility to work effectively, on a wide product range - both independently and as part of a close-knit, multi-disciplinary team
  • Desirables:
  • Experience of X-ray materials
  • Commercial awareness,
  • Excellent communications skills, including communicating to a range of technical and non-technical audiences,
  • Cleanroom process experience including conformal coatings / X-ray testing
  • Attention to detail and a critical eye for product quality,
  • Experience in device / product development, from concept to manufacture,
