Job Description

JB117: Trainee Maintenance EngineerLocation: CambridgeSalary: £27,000Overview:First Military Recruitment are currently seeking a Maintenance Engineer on behalf of one of our clients.Our client encourages applications from ex-military personnel however all candidates will be given due consideration.Duties & Responsibilities for the Maintenance Engineer:

  • Carry out planned preventive maintenance to air conditioning & refrigeration systems at domestic, commercial and industrial sites to a high standard in compliance with FGas Regulations.
  • The ability to organise and prioritise own workload, where required, and to work with minimal supervision and can work successfully as part of a team.
  • Communicate with colleagues, Clients, and their representatives in a polite and courteous manner at all times to ensure a high level of customer care. Keep service delivery managers up to date, always, with engineering and building issues that may affecttheir service delivery.
  • To take direction and receipt of planned or reactive workloads from the Operations Supervisor, Manager or Help-desk teams
Skills & Qualifications for the Maintenance Engineer:
  • Experience of working with a range of air conditioning systems
  • Ability to work as part of a team or on own initiative
  • Strong time keeping and punctuality skills
  • Ability to identify problems with equipment and write detailed reports on findings
  • Confident and approachable personality with colleagues and clients
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • A good knowledge and awareness of health & safety
  • Experience with working with a number of manufacturers such as Daikin, Mitsubishi & Fujitsu
  • Full driving licence held for 12 months
  • Level 2 qualification in air conditioning / refrigeration
  • FGAS 2079
  • CSCS, IPAF & Pasma qualifications would be advantageous
