Machine Learning Engineer - BioinformaticsNewton Colmore is collaborating with an exciting biotech start-up in Cambridge, assisting them with their search for a machine learning engineer to join their bioinformatics team.In this exciting new role, you will be developing complex bioinformatic algorithms, databases and tools that will have a direct effect on the companys future research and development programmes. You will be working alongside data engineers and data analystsas a part of a multidisciplinary team, reporting directly to the director of bioinformatics.As part of the bioinformatics team, you will be working on your own projects, and taking charge of them from start to finish. The first project you will be undertaking is of vital importance to the client with high visibility across the company.You will be responsible for driving the development of databases that help the company understand the best targets and approaches to deliver novel therapies to patients. This will involve extensive use machine learning and geometric deep learning algorithms.This is a great opportunity to join a company and make a real difference with your knowledge and experience, leading machine learning-based projects from day one.We are looking for scientists who have developed code in Python coupled with experience in the bioinformatics/omics field.
