A renowned Global Software Consultancy is currently looking for a very technically capable, enthusiastic and passionate Linux Kernel Software Developer to join its ever growing engineering team.As a member of the Core domain team, you primary focus will be to participate in the development, integration, validation and deployment of Linux board support packages and kernel device drivers, merging code upstream, working together with the mainline Linux community, configuring kernels, troubleshooting functional and performance problems for different customers projects and products.Key ResponsibilitiesDiscuss Linux core system technologies with clients and represent the company at conferences and trade shows to demonstrate and promote our leadership in the open source arenaAnalyse client problems and design solutions leveraging open source technologies and technical expertiseDefine and scope client projects in collaboration with the delivery teamContribute publicly to open source projects to further strengthen the companys technical leadershipGain working knowledge of customers products, applications, technical and business strengths and target marketsUnderstand client needs and reconciling time constraints, available technologies and resources, and open source best practicesDesired SkillsLinux Kernel and kernel module developmentLinux driver developmentCross-compiling and portingUnderstanding of opensource development methodology and practices as well as prior experience/contributions with/to the Open Source Linux Kernel community.Linux distribution package development/management (Debian, Yocto...) is a nice to haveExposure to Continuous Integration environments (Jenkins, kernelci.org...) is a plusGood English language skills (both verbal and written)Ability to work and communicate in an online fully distributed environmentThe business is a software consultancy specialising in bringing companies and the Open Source community together.
