Job Description

Role: Legal Counsel Location: Cambridge (hybrid working, one to two days a week office based) Employment Type: Permanent, Full-timeSalary: Up to £75,000 per annum, plus bonus and benefitsAre you a Commercial Solicitor on the lookout for a new challenge If so, we have an exciting opportunity that you wont want to miss! We are seeking two to six year PQE Legal Counsel to join an in-house legal team of a successful and innovative companyin the life sciences sector based in Cambridge.This role offers a diverse range of responsibilities, including working on a broad spectrum of legal documentation across all business areas, including Commercial and Operations. As a key member of a close-knit team, you will provide support on a wide varietyof commercial agreements, such as master service agreements, supplier and outsourcing agreements, terms and conditions, clinical trial documentation and material transfer agreements.We are seeking an individual who possesses exceptional skills in drafting and negotiating commercial contracts. You will also have excellent communication skills and the ability to work across a range of legal disciplines. You will thrive in a fast-pacedenvironment, where strong organisational skills and good judgement are essential. The company has an open-door policy, so you must be approachable and personable, with the ability to build effective relationships across the business.Requirements:

  • UK qualified Solicitor or Barrister with two to six years post qualification experience, ideally with an In-House background from the BioTech, Life Sciences, Pharmaceuticals or Technology sector an advantage (Private Practice candidates will also be considered)
  • Experience in drafting, advising and reviewing on a broad range of commercial agreements
  • Exposure within Data Protection matters
  • Strong academics and an outstanding training record
  • Have excellent working relationships with the business units
  • Be organised with a prioritised approach, meticulous attention to detail and the ability to work under pressure.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to work as part of a team and independently
