Interim Professional Registration SpecialistThe Royal Society of Chemistry (RSC) is looking for an Interim Professional Registration Specialist to join us on a full-time (35-hour week) temporary basis until approximately December 2021 (due to a secondment). You will be based at our Cambridge Science Park office (free on-site parking and close to the guided busway and Cambridge North train station), with UK travel required. In particular, you will lead on the Technician Commitment project, an exciting new initiative that gives the RSC an opportunity to develop a fresh approach to engaging with the vitally important technician community within the chemical sciences and celebrating their professional contribution.The role encompasses four key responsibilities:• Project manage and implement the RSC’s Technician Commitment action plan, and develop its content in response to the needs of the technician community.• Instigate and project manage activities that can lead to an increase in RSciTech and RSci applications.• Manage the full application process for individuals applying for the professional registrations of RSci/RSciTech.• Grow the number of accredited vocational courses.Essential knowledge and skills:• Developed professional key skills through employment, including being able to work independently and as part of a team, communication skills, interpersonal skills, IT skills, conscientiousness, accountability and time management.• Experience of working in a sales, recruitment or similar environment.• Understanding of the range of professions within chemical science and the variety of routes into them.• Awareness of the range of organisations that employ chemical scientists.• Appreciation of the value of professional awards and continued professional development.• Able to follow set processes to a high standard and to identify and implement improvements.• Appreciation of qualifying standards and eligibility requirements, including being able to explain and apply them to a variety of audiences.• Strong knowledge of professional education and lifelong learning activities.• Strong project management skills, including being able to deliver multiple projects in parallel and involving internal and external stakeholders.• Excellent presentation skills and a customer focused approach, with excellent interpersonal skills and feedback delivery.• Able to interact and network competently with RSC colleagues, members on committees, peers at other professional bodies, employers of chemists and senior university/training provider staff.Desirable knowledge and skills:• A degree or equivalent in a science subject.• Be (or be eligible to be) a member of the RSC or an equivalent professional body.• Experience of working in a chemical science setting or organisation.The Royal Society of Chemistry supports development and offers excellent benefits.If this sounds of interest, please apply before the end of our closing date.You may have experience of the following: Interim Professional Registration Specialist, Registration Standards Specialist, Registration Standards Officer, Registration Standards Manager, Project Manager, Programme Manager, Membership Manager, Membership Services Manager, etc.Ref: 93584
