Job Description

Infrastructure engineer/ Cloud/Azure/, working from home with couple days in the office.An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Infrastructure engineer with ideally experience of cloud hosted solutions to join well established blue chip organisation.As a Infrastructure engineer you will support the Infrastructure Services Team in the development and implementation of Azure, departmental and business wide service improvements, supporting the existing infrastructure landscape and helping shape the futureinfrastructure landscape.Supporting our transformational journey, workloads will include a mix of BAU and Project work, your key tasks will involve LLD/HLD planning, scheduling and implementing Change Requests and Maintenance activities for the team as well as on-going Root Cause Analysisand dealing with escalated incidents.As the Infrastructure Engineer, you will be supporting and helping to develop strategies to maintain coherent infrastructure both in house and within cloud based services. In this role, the Infrastructure Engineer will have the opportunity of managing and maintainingall network, virtualisation and storage infrastructure within our clients offices Your knowledge of cloud adoption frameworks and SAAS solutions will aid the IT team to deliver cost effective and efficient services to the business.RESPONSIBILITIES*Manage and maintain all aspects of on prem and cloud infrastructure.*Support and oversee all aspects of infrastructure operations across all sites.*Provide hands on technical support and escalation (through Incident, Change &Problem Management procedures) and to ensure that SLAs are achieved, whilst also looking for ways to improve the day to day IT delivery.*Implementation, design and Management of future cloud infrastructure (Azure, AWS).*Maintaining operation of system environments including the upgrade of platforms, OSand infrastructure.*Administration of existing outsourced VMware and cloud infrastructure.*Storage management, including capacity planning, retention, backups and recovery management.*Pro-active monitoring, management and improvement our clients offices*Citrix estate management, working closely with Business Solutions team to manage residing applications and systems hosted within the environment, maintaining thedemarcation and responsibility between applications management and support vs infrastructure. *Server OS update management and upgrades.*Patch management for desktops, servers and networking equipment and all other infrastructure hardware.*End user computing OS update management and upgrades, working closely with ServiceDelivery Manager to effect a non-disruptive delivery.*Support our clients Business Continuity plan - ensuring the recovery of infrastructure in the event of a disaster, implement necessary systems and controls to facilitate an effective RPO and RTO.*Working alongside the Business Solutions team to develop new end user computing builds of Windows, maintaining current and future builds.*Suggesting and taking part in continual improvement of new and existing services andIT projects as required.*Supporting and ensuring infrastructure adheres to the ISO27001 information securitystandard.*Infrastructure administration activities for Active-Directory, M365, Exchange, SCCM.*Undertake pro-active, scheduled maintenance work and upgrades and improvements.*Ensure that systems are always up to date, are secure and compliant.*Identify and resolve complex technical issues.*Telecommunications estate management, current and future.*Infrastructure asset management, associated contracts & suppliers, ensuring that allinfrastructure assets are recorded in the asset management system, and are maintained effectively.*Support 1st and 2nd line service desk colleagues with escalated tickets as necessary.*Undertake project work, including design, and service improvement work.*Focusing on maintaining a secure environment with the assistance of other IT colleagues and in accordance with IS027001, and Cyber Essentials + standards.*Creation and maintenance of systems documentation, standard operating procedures.*Building and maintaining the library of Infrastructure SoPs, documenting fault solutions, common tasks and maintenance procedures in such a way that any member of the team can complete the required actions.*Other duties as designated by the Senior IT Management Team.*Working with the Cyber and Information Security Team, ensure all infrastructure is secure and protected against cyber related threats.SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE *Minimum of 4 years in a technical role, with ideally at least 1 years experience in supporting cloud hosted solutions (Azure or AWS). *Experience in migrating workloads from traditional datacentres to cloud providers.*Solid problem solving skills, with proficient attention to detail.*Windows Server 2012 through to 2022.*MS Azure Cloud Experience*MS Office 365, Active Directory, SQL, Exchange*Virtualisation, VMware, or Hyper-V*Storage Infrastructure.*Hosted Cloud Datacenter, Physical & Virtual Server Estates*SCCM.*Cisco Meraki.*Experience in the BAU, Shared Services or Commercial IT Services operation*Confident in fault diagnosis across technologies & platforms and experience of rectifying faults within established SLAs.*Configuring and maintaining monitoring tools and systems.*Experience operating in a change control and configuration management environment.*Ability to competently act as the technical point contact of escalation for incidents.*The ability to investigate potential future technologies and solutions that may benefit the IT and hosting, storage or operating system estate.CERTIFICATIONS*MCSE, MCSA*Certified Azure AdministratorSo if you are a Infrastructure engineer looking for your next exciting career move please apply now!"In applying for this position, you consent to your personal data being shared with the specified employer and for your details to remain with GTS for as long as is necessary to process your application.
