Job Description

Are you looking to join a market leader Are you a Health, Safety & Environmental specialist with multi-site experience Do you enjoy championing HSE systems Do you enjoy bringing teams together*Please note, this opportunity is multi-site (low-medium travel between sites is crucial to manage HSE)*Our Client:With over 1000 employees across the globe, our client is a market leading FMCG production business offering worldwide production and logistical support. With over three million tonnes of their product sold around the globe each year to a number of world-renowned household names, our client has recently made further acquisition to strengthen their global brand and reach.The Goal:The post-holder will work closely with site management teams to drive the safety culture, and will champion the development of behavioural safety management and will engage employees in identifying hazards, and risk assessments. The post-holder will track that measures are in place to meet all legal compliance obligations with regard to health, safety and environmental legislation and will be the point of contact with external bodies.Specification:

  • Champion the development of behavioural safety management and will work closely with each site to drive the improvement of the safety culture
  • Build strong relationships with site management teams and will engage employees in identifying hazards, risk assessments and the promotion a positive safety culture
  • Maintain the legal register to track that measures are in place to meet all legal compliance obligations with regard to health, safety and environmental legislation
  • Point of contact with external bodies/enforcement agencies
  • Work local management to ensure that the UK sites are consistently prepared for audit in relation to our current accreditations and those we are working towards
  • Organise and execute activities such as training and occupational health screenings
  • Facilitate the investigation of incidents and working with line managers to ensure that all identified necessary corrective actions are closed out in timely manner
  • Support local teams in the management and control environmental impacts, in particular waste water
  • Experience/Attributes Required:
  • Experience in SHE roles in manufacturing, engineering or similar industrial environments
  • IPPC experience would be advantageous
  • Ideally qualified to Nebosh General Certificate (or equivalent level) as a minimum. A formal environmental management qualification is desirable
  • The role requires a passionate, self-motivated and enthusiastic people centred person.
  • A strong influencer with leadership qualities and excellent communication skills.
  • Tenacious and driven to consistently challenge the status quo to deliver continuous improvement in line with the company vision
