Job Description

Salary: £29,000 - 30,800p.a.Hours of work: 8:00 - 16:00 Monday - FridayCompany benefits: 30 days holiday + bank holidays, free lunch, private healthcare, dental plan, contributory pension scheme (matching up to 6%)PLEASE NOTE THERE IS NOT ONSITE PARKING, BUT OUR CLIENT IS CLOSE TO CAMBRIDGE TRAIN STATION AND ON THE PARK & RIDE BUS ROUTES.Kameo Recruitment has partnered with a family of independent co-education day schools; on this occasion we are working with their leading Cambridge establishment. Our client is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic HR Advisor, reporting into the HR OfficeManager. Together with the rest of the HR team you will be responsible for in the day-to-day delivery of the HR life cycle to over 400 staff. Working closely with the HR Administrators, the HR Advisor will be involved in several hands-on HR tasks, with prioritieschanging on a day-to-day basis, therefore the ability to prioritise and organise their workload is essential to the success of this role.Duties & Responsibilities of the HR AdministratorEnd to end Recruitment

  • liaise with Senior heads and other hiring managers on their recruitment needs, preparing job descriptions, placing external and internal vacancies, shortlisting, inviting to interviews and attending interviews where required.
  • Provide advice to senior heads and hiring managers on appropriate recruitment and selection strategies.
  • Deliver and/or support new starter inductions.
  • Produce job offer letters and employment contract documentation.
Employee Relations
  • Apply employment law in a manner which achieves the best outcome by considering the known and perceived risks to inform the available options.
  • Advise managers and colleagues on employee relation matters, providing best practice guidance and ensuring complete compliance with relevant policies.
  • Lead (or support, as appropriate) employee relations casework, including: disciplinaries, grievances, absence, redundancy, settlement agreements and flexible working requests.
  • Lead (or support, as appropriate) significant employee relations consultations, including TUPE processes, and those relating to substantive changes to terms and conditions, including salary, pension and benefits
Additional Duties include:
  • Support management with learning and development and wellbeing initiatives
  • Promote a culture of positive HR and employee engagement by building and maintaining solid working relationships with all colleagues and HR team members.
  • Support the Head of HR and HR Office Manager in ensuring 100% compliance with the establishments safer recruitment policies and procedures across all recruitment processes.
  • Produce personnel related reports from iSAMS (e.g., daily absence and share with relevant members of staff.
  • Advise managers and colleagues on HR related queries, such as family leave entitlements, absence, flexible working requests and professional discussions, providing best practice guidance in line with the establishments policies.
  • Produce communications to staff in writing when required (e.g., family leave entitlements, resignation acknowledgements).
  • Liaise with the Payroll department on new starters/leavers and employee contract changes, checking calculations of pay and holiday entitlements.
  • Ad hoc HR related projects
Requirements for this role
  • Solid HR Advisor lever experience, ideally in an educational environment but this is not essential
  • CIPD Level 3 as a minimum or extensive HR generalist experience
  • Employee relations experience to include disciplinary, grievance, absence management, etc.
  • Able to work accurately with excellent attention to detail and meet deadlines
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office
  • Strong organisational and communication skills
  • Flexible and willing to help with various activities
  • Consistently act with honesty and integrity
