Job Description

Our client, located in central Cambridge with modern offices, continues to innovate and grow. They operate within a fast growth and very modern marketplace selling products direct to customer. The role of Head of Supply Chain has a strong bias towardspurchasing and ensuring stock is in the right place at the right time. The role offers flexible working where you’d be expected to be in the office 5 days a fortnight (with some flexibility). It is expected that the role evolves, and that the successfulcandidate will take up a leadership role over time. Responsibilities

  • Inventory Management, ensure goods such as ingredients and packaging are always available to outsourced manufacturers. Build strong relationships with key suppliers and forge new relationships to ensure the best price and product quality is always available.
  • Demand Forecasting, work closely within inhouse product developers and outsourced planning teams to ensure stock is available to meet tight production deadlines.
  • Supplier Relationship Management
  • Logistics Optimisation
  • Oversee transportation, warehousing and distribution operations to maximise efficiency and minimise costs.
  • Ensure shipments meet required service levels, including those of third parties such as Amazon.
  • Quality Control
  • Establish and enforce quality control processes, ensure deliver of high quality goods and resolve issues promptly and proactively.
  • Optimise shipping packaging to meet the evolving needs of the business and customers while reducing costs.
  • Team Leadership
  • Lead a high-performing supply chain team, providing guidance, mentorship and development opportunities.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement, agility and innovation within the team.
Required Skills and Experience
  • Significant proven experience in supply chain management, you must have strong procurement skills and ideally experience working within a B2C environment or ingredients, commodities, perishable, environment where there is pressure on deadlines.
  • Experience building relationships with outsourced providers such as 3PL and manufacturing, with a track record delivering final product to customer on time every time.
  • Strong commercial acumen.
  • Strong analytical skills and proficiency in using supply chain software and tools.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Leadership experience with the ability to motivate and inspire a small internal team.
  • Track record of driving process improvements and cost savings within the supply chain.
