Job Description

We are delighted to be working in partnership with one of the colleges in their search for a Finance Manager to support the bursar and taking responsibility for the day to day finance based in Cambridge, Cambridgeshire.This is a very pivotal role within the senior management team, to replace the outgoing postholder due to retirement. Typical duties include:

  • Production of monthly management accounts
  • Preparing statutory accounts
  • Management and development of the finance team
  • Lead the annual planning and budget process
  • Support the bursar in the development of the long-term financial plan
  • Manage the treasury function
  • Prepare and submit various internal and external statutory or regulatory returns
  • Provide financial information to senior management team
  • Development of processes and procedures
  • Adhoc duties to support the team
Applications are invited from individuals with the following skills and experience
  • Qualified Accountant (Formally Qualified and Qualified by Experience)
  • Previous experience in a similar level role ideally within a charity or not for profit sector
  • Line management of a finance team is essential
  • IT Literate - Microsoft Excel is essential
  • Excellent communication skills at all levels
  • Ability to manage own workload and deadlines
