Head of Audience and Visitor Services (Fixed Term) - Job Opportunities - University of CambridgeCambridge University Libraries External Engagement Team was established in 2019 to bring together the public and externally facing work at Cambridge University Library, including exhibitions, events, communications, fundraising and membership. Over thelast few years, we have delivered the University of Cambridges biggest-ever news story (featured in more than 6,000 publications across the world), welcomed up to 100,000 visitors a year to exhibitions in Cambridge, and toured our first exhibition, whichwas seen by more than 250,000 at the New York Public Library. We are passionate about delivering engagement work at one of the worlds great research libraries, and are inspired by the astonishing breadth of the collections and the variety of research andlearning that takes place here, from world-leading academics and writers to family historians and students at all stages of their learning.We are a small but ambitious team and are now recruiting for three new roles, Head of Audience and Visitor Services, Participation Manager and Social Media and Communications Coordinator. This is an exciting time to join us, as we are still developing ourvision, understanding what works for our audiences, and building our team. At this stage of our development, we need colleagues able to work to the best effect with the resources that are available at the time, as well as help us to build our vision and plansfor the future.The Head of Audiences and Visitor Services is a new senior staff member who will provide leadership and management for our visitor experience. We need a colleague to design a coherent visitor journey, from the first point of contact onwards, and to builda strong operational framework, including ticketing and CRM, visitor marketing, retail, and commercial licensing and merchandising. Introducing the ULs own CRM will be an immediate and high-priority task for the post holder.For all roles, applicants from a range of sectors and backgrounds who have relevant and transferable skills are warmly welcome. We think these roles need to be based primarily on-site, but we are open to hybrid and flexible working. The current team worksa variety of patterns including part-time, full-time, compressed hours, and different home working days.
