Job Description

We are working exclusively with a Cambridge based company who are doing something fantastic!Their aim is to build a clean, sustainable global 21st Century Energy System based on a new generation of high energy density Supercapacitors. They were founded in 2013 and have huge plans for the future and funding to support this.What are SupercapacitorsThey are high energy density, low cost, low environmental impact electrical energy storage devices. They will create a clean and sustainable global energy and transportation system. They deliver energy quickly, unlike conventional batteries which are slowerand when disposed of, are harmful to the environment. These new supercapacitors are safe, fast and have the added benefit of reducing pollution and waste.Based in the South Cambridgeshire biotech cluster, the team (of 20) work within a unique setting of stunning parkland surroundings and their neighbours are similar start-ups! They have a fab set of benefits available and offer extensive career opportunitiesas the company grows.The Role:

  • Some design and build basic circuitry and components for prototypes
  • Prepare and present designs and concepts to colleagues
  • Select appropriate materials for the development of PCBs and components
  • Provide progress reports to management
  • Liaise with suppliers and other external partners
  • Research and evaluate performance improvements and look at ways in which to improve the performance of products
  • Develop products for use in commercial applications and products
About You:
  • Its likely that you will have an Electronics degree/qualification, but we are equally happy to talk to those with equivalent experience
  • Great practical electronics ability
  • Experience in circuit build and test
  • Design skills would be useful
  • Any experience with batteries/supercapacitors/materials Science would be a bonus!
