This is a unique position within the business that works across both our state-of-the-art R&D facility in Cambridge and our HQ in Central London. This a hybridrole requiring regular travel to both sites minimum three days per week (main office base will depend on the candidate).Based in Cambridge and London, our experienced Scientists, Engineers and Designers work in partnership with our Marketing and Innovation team to develop the next generation of tech-beauty products. The Product Insights Manager reports directly into the GlobalSenior Insights Manager and will be expected to generate insight to support in the design, development, and delivery of ghds new product development pipeline.JOB ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead the NPD product testing calendar and processes, working closely with Education, Science and Engineering teams.
  • Establish, own and manage a product testing community across both Cambridge and London, to facilitate ad-hoc/ongoing research.
  • Facilitate a mix of qualitative and quantitative in-house research to test product feasibility, user experience and marketing claims for our latest tech-beauty innovations.
  • Design and script research questionnaires that draw out rich insight to answer our key business questions.
  • Identify innovative research methodologies to translate scientific benefits and technical parameters into meaningful consumer benefits.
  • Partner with our trusted research agencies to scope and execute larger-scale research initiatives, and to carry out marketing claims tests.
  • Disseminate and cascade learnings from research throughout the business and be the insights bridge between engineering and science, and marketing and innovations teams.
  • Define new innovation spaces and opportunities to drive product upgrades via proposal, execution and analysis of research/usability findings and existing data/research.
  • Analyse, interpret, prepare and present the findings of research activities or usability evaluations to the wider team and senior management in a compelling way.
  • Types of research covered by this role include UX research, professional testing, claims feasibility and substantiation, and in-home testing of both electrical and wetline products.
REQUIREMENTSEssential:
  • 4-5 years experience working in product or claims testing/consumer insights or research/human factors research.
  • A solid understanding of the design and execution of a wide range of both qualitative and quantitative research methods.
  • Ability to collect and analyse data effectively with strong attention to detail.
  • Highly skilled in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills.
  • Self-starter, able to work independently and to deadlines.
  • Proactive with a positive attitude and flexible approach to working.
Desirable:
  • Experience in consumer electronics or hair care would be advantageous.
  • A scientific/engineering background would be advantageous.
  • A passion for beauty, and improving peoples lives through innovative product design.
