Job Description

Finance Business PartnerLocation: Cambridge, UK; or hybrid with regular travel to CambridgeSalary: £40,000 - £45,000 p.a. full-time equivalent, dependent on experienceBasis: Permanent; full-time, part-time, or flexibleEligibility: You must be eligible to work in the UKThe roleWe are looking to recruit a qualified accountant or late-stage studier (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) as a Finance Business Partner who will work closely with the Financial Controller and the rest of the Finance team to support the charitable entities of the Foundationsgroup. This is a varied role that will provide finance support and management information relating to our various programmes and projects in the UK as well as to our subsidiaries in Ireland, the USA, and India. The role will include management accountancy,variance analysis, and higher-level reporting at month end, as well as supporting budgeting, payroll, VAT returns, and the annual audit process.This role will suit someone with strong analytical skills and attention to detail who also has the communication and interpersonal skills required to effectively partner with teams and translate financial information to the wider organisation.We strive to make the Foundation a place where talented people who care about our mission can do the best work of their careers.   • Provide finance support and management information for the Executive team and Leadership team members relating to our various programmes and projects
  • Support month-end accounts preparation and management accounts reporting as required
  • Run monthly budget variance reports, and support budget holders with variance analysis and financial reports as required
  • Work alongside the Financial Controller and Chief Finance Officer to prepare the annual budget and mid-year reforecast
  • Support the Financial Controller with annual statutory audits of all our entities
  • Prepare and submit VAT returns for our VAT-registered entities
  • Prepare monthly payroll data for external payroll providers, and work closely with our People and Culture team on all payroll and benefits queries
  • Prepare regular cash flow forecasts and manage cash flow between the groups entities
  • Develop cross-competencies so that cover of other roles in the team can be provided
  • Prepare and update internal financial policies and processes as required
  • Help to identify process improvements and drive efficiency

  • A qualified accountant or late-stage studier (ACA/ACCA/CIMA)
  • Experienced with producing management accounts, variance analysis reports, and other financial reports for non-financial stakeholders
  • Able to work with precision and excellent attention to detail
  • Excellent at verbal and written communication, and able to communicate to both financial and non-financial stakeholders
  • A good team player
  • Experience working with accounting software, ideally Xero
  • Literate in MS Office and Google Workspace, and competent in all other aspects of an electronic environment
  • Experience of working in a multi-currency environment with international subsidiaries
  • Experience managing payroll
  • Knowledge of VAT rules
