FINANCE ASSISTANTStart: August 2022Location: CambridgeHours: 9-5pm Monday to FridaySalary: £23,000 - £25,000 with a review in Sept 2022Are you looking to join a unique academic establishment that has education at the heart of its valuesDo you want to have a role that works around school holidaysAs a Finance Assistant you will be dealing with the administration and accounting for all school trips. Responsibility for non-fee ledger banking, cash within the school and use of the schools online payment platforms. Processing and coding of purchase ledgerinvoices and assisting the Purchase Ledger supervisor with the other purchase ledger tasks.* Processing and coding of purchase invoices* Reviewing supplier statements.* Requesting copy invoices and credit notes from suppliers* Liaising with suppliers on purchase invoice queries* Accounting and financial administration of all school trips and outings* Collecting payments via ParentPay, cheque, electronic transfer and applying these to the relevant trip* Opening and closing of trips on ParentPay including adding all pupils attending, monitoring the trip budgets and liaising with heads of trip on progress* Posting trip surplus/deficit and admin charges within PASS* Assisting parents in the operation of ParentPay when required and being main point of contact for the ParentPay software* Counting cash, dealing with petty cash and issuing cash floats for caf, tuck shop and charity events. Reporting back on income for these* Processing photocopying journal to recharge to departments.* Assisting other bursary team members at peak periods where necessary* Filing and archivingSkills & Experience* A good standard of education (a minimum of A level or equivalent, including GCSE or equivalent in Maths and English).* Accountancy/bookkeeping qualification (e.g. AAT part qualified)* Accounting systems* Cash handling/banking* Competent keyboard skills and a good working knowledge of Windows and Microsoft applications, especially Excel* Experience of working in a busy environment and as part of a team* Numerical accuracy and attention to detail.* Good organisational skills, including prioritising, and working to deadlines with an ability to work under pressure.* An ability to establish good working relationships.* A capable communicator with a calm, confident, professional and personable manner in all media (face to face, telephone and in writing) and to people at all levels.* Tactful and discreet, able to maintain confidentiality.Culture, Environment & Benefits In return, you will be rewarded with a caring and compassionate culture, and a generous benefits package.Paid holiday entitlement is 6 weeks plus Bank holidays per annum - one week to be taken at Christmas, four days to be taken during the Easter break and the remainder to be taken as agreed with the Finance Manager.
