Job Description

My client is an established and market leading laboratory automation company who manufacture bespoke and tailored robotics and liquid handling automation solutions & software which are used by top 10 global pharmaceutical companies, prestigious universities, and exciting biotech companies.They are a highly dynamic and entrepreneurial Laboratory Automation business who have a real passion and commitment to the success of the company, its customers and importantly accelerating scientific discovery and improving healthcare!Day-to-Day of the role:

  • Travel with and assist Sales/Account managers to translate customer needs into marketable, whole-product solutions
  • Operate as a subject matter expert for my client’s laboratory automation software products
  • Contribute to the design of work cell systems, develop technical methods and conduct timing studies of workflows for new sales and existing customer needs
  • Work closely with all cross-functional project leads and managers to ensure efficient scientific support of an Integrations project from initial pre-sales through to customer installation and acceptance
  • Translate methods for customer applications into checklist for Integrations Acceptance Test Approval Documents
  • Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • You could have 1+ years’ experience as a Field Application Specialist or Field Application Scientist already working for a laboratory automation/liquid handling company
  • If you are not an established FAS already you will have 3 to 5 years of practical hands-on laboratory experience as a Scientist/Senior Scientist using laboratory automation robotics/liquid handlers from companies such as Tecan, Hamilton, Perkin Elmer, Beckman Coulter or similar
  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Life Science, Molecular and Cell Biology, Biochemistry, or similar field such as Chemistry
  • Knowledgeable within areas such as Drug Discovery, High-Throughput Screening, Genotyping, siRNA, Next Generation Sequencing, Sample Prep, Biorepository Science, Genomics, Proteomics
  • Ability to travel (including internationally) 40-60%
  • Excellent analytical, problem solving, and time management
