Job Description

If you are an experienced Physicist with superb academic credentials and proven technical capabilities, The ONE Group would like to hear from you.Its important to mention that this organisation works with the UKs Defence and Homeland Security, so it is vital that you are able to gain UK Security Clearance.This is predominantly a site-based position (there will be some flexibility to work remotely), based within outstanding R&D facilities in the South Cambridge area. You will work on a variety of interesting, innovative projects which will contribute to theprotection of the UK from the latest technological and cyber threats.Working in a small, talented cross-disciplinary team, you will be joining the organisation at an important time, as they prepare to quadruple in size within the next 5 years. This is a highly educated and skilled team of scientists, engineers and designers.About You:

  • Excellent further and higher education record with a superb degree in a relevant subject from a well-renowned university
  • At least 2 years experience working as a Physicist, in any sector
  • Exceptional knowledge of fundamental and theoretical Physics with the ability to apply this to real-world scenarios
  • Ability to interface with clients
  • Eligibility for UK Security Clearance
You will need to demonstrate knowledge of some of the following:
  • Analytical, numerical and finite element simulation
  • Thermal systems (including aviation and maritime)
  • Chemical and materials processes
  • Optics (including propagation, imaging systems, fibre optics and lasers)
  • Fluorescence imaging and interaction of light with real-world surfaces
  • Electromagnetics (including propagation, penetration, interference and interaction with electronics)
  • Acoustics (including haptics and acoustic communications)
  • Fluid analysis (including droplet and aerosol formation, particle dispersion, fluid flow and microfluidics)
  • Artificial Intelligence / Machine Learning
