If this opportunity is of interest to you with someflexibility, please do discuss with us.Your roleDirectors within IP Advisory have accountability for risk management, project delivery, business development, growth targets and the strategic development of the practice.You will be responsible for leading advisory and transactional engagements, ensuring deliverables are of a high quality and are delivered to the client on time and to budget. You will operate autonomously and lead others, delegating effectively and usingyour interpersonal skills to guide, motivate and develop team members.You will lead business development activities, developing new leads and opportunities, often through internal networking. You will lead specific campaigns and drive new initiatives while coordinating fully with the rest of the team. You will be account ownerfor key clients.You will be part of the leadership team helping to manage and grow the business, as well as to develop the practice. You will work closely with Partners in IP Advisory and other parts of the Firm to develop and grow the practice and will hold a positionof eminence in the industry.Key responsibilities:

  • Lead multiple engagements and engagement teams holding accountability for delivery and risk management
  • Conceive, lead and deliver specific business development initiatives to grow the practice
  • Contribute significantly to the strategic development and direction of the practice
  • Develop and lead distinctive go to market propositions within the practice
  • Operate as account owner for key clients
  • Oversee the development of proposals and project plans
  • Lead IP transactions negotiations
  • Lead the operational management of the IP Advisory business, as well as the strategic development and direction of the practice
  • Lead IP Advisory teams talent management and recruitment activities and hold people leader responsibilities
  • Develop and manage an internal network to connect IP advisory services to other service lines within Deloitte
  • Mentor junior members of the IP Advisory team

  • Excellent academic background in a technical or scientific discipline
  • A robust understanding of the various types of IP, including their legal frameworks, protection mechanisms, commercial and strategic implications
  • Recognised leadership and eminence in the IP field
  • Significant experience in IP management or commercial exploitation within a consulting or advisory environment
  • Demonstrable and substantial experience leading IP projects and teams in a fast paced and multi-tasking environment
  • Significant experience in developing a business development pipeline and successfully generating profitable work
  • Experience in building and managing client relationships
