3 South & 4 North West - Deputy Sister/Charge Nurse Band 6 We have an exciting opportunity to appoint a Deputy Sister/Charge Nurse post to join our cardiology team. This role will involve line management responsibility and the ability to manage a clinical shift within a rapid and fast paced environment. Our focus is our patients, their needs, ensuring their comfort and providing high quality care. This is at the forefront of our thinking and we are constantly working to develop the service we offer to the people we treat. The Trust is an outstanding organisation rated by the CQC in 2019. 3 South is a 41 single bedded ward including a 4 single bedded Coronary Care Unit. We have recently opened a further 12 bedded cardiology area on 4 North West to provide further cardiology capacity (bed base increasing over coming months to 21 beds). 3 South and 4 North West are on the cutting edge of technology, providing excellent cardiology experience for staff caring for patients undergoing cardiology procedures: angiograms, angioplasty, ablations, cardiac devices and various cardiac valve related procedures. The nursing dependency of the patients is diverse and as such is dependent on the clinical skills of trained and motivated nurses. We have a superb team of dedicated nurses and support staff. Our staff is focused on providing the highest standards of patient care and we are keen to recruit staff to join our team who will share our vision, enthusiasm and pride in the care we deliver.Development opportunities at Royal Papworth Hospital are first class, with a supportive individualised orientation program following Trust induction. There are specialist in house study days and courses, including leading teams and department courses. There are also close links to Anglia Ruskin University for post registration courses and ongoing development to Masters level. Royal Papworth Hospital is building the Heart Lung Research Institute (HLRI) which will be developing a curriculum to support nurses and the wider MDT within the hospital with education, training and research opportunities. We would welcome applications from individuals with significant post registration experience ideally in a cardiology setting, the mentorship preparation module or equivalent, leadership experience and post registration in the field of cardiology is essential. This is a great time to join a forward thinking dynamic and highly functioning team, informal visits are actively encouraged. For further information, or to arrange an informal visit, please contact Sister Becky Thomas or Charge Nurse Steven Thurston.
