Job Description

Our TrustCambridge University Hospitals (CUH) NHS Foundation Trust comprises Addenbrooke’s Hospital and the Rosie Hospital in Cambridge. The Trust provides accessible high-quality healthcare for the local people of Cambridge, together with specialist services, dealing with rare or complex conditions for a regional, national and international population.The Cambridge Cancer Trials Centre (CCTC) accommodates around 100 research staff involved in the set-up, coordination and conduct of clinical and translational cancer research and is located in S4 and Coton House at Addenbrooke’s Hospital. The CCTC is led by its Director, Professor Duncan Jodrell (University of Cambridge, Professor of Cancer Therapeutics).You will work as part of the CCTU-Cancer Theme’s Programming team and will work closely with trial teams in order to provide high quality data capture tools suitable for the capture of robust clinical trial data. The team use both off-the-shelf tools as well as bespoke software developed in house. You will have an excellent understanding of Clinical Trials and the associated regulatory requirements of working in the Clinical Trial environment. The key functions of the role are;

  • To design data capture tools using XML and associated technologies to provide paper and electronic CRFs for the collection of trial data
  • To use Elsevier’s MACRO Electronic Data Capture system to provide a data service ensuring the efficient and secure capture of robust data
  • Liaise with the trial team in order to develop, test and validate a trial specific database and accompanying forms and procedures.
  • To provide expertise in the querying and management of trial data and to provide the necessary technical tools using SQL and .Net technologies to make the process efficient and reliable.
  • Support the senior team to ensure compliance with regulatory procedures and keep systems fit for purpose and operational at all times
  • Write bespoke applications as required to provide enhancements in trial data management
