Job Description

Contracts Manager Home Based - Cambridge (or Peterborough / Ipswich) £35,000 - 40,000 plus car / allowance (£5k)The successful Contracts Manager will be home-based ideally in the Cambridge or surrounding area but working as part of a strong team (both office & field based), dealing with property repairs / reinstatement works within a designated patch around your postcode.Ideally, this would suit a Contracts Manager who is keen to expand their current skills and experience (residential repairs / extensions / renovations) into specialising within the insurance industry.Insurance industry experience isnt essential but you will need to be keen to learn the principals of insurance and ideally have a drive to progress into a more subsidence speciality role over time (additional training & support will be provided in termsof qualifications & memberships).Experience having used Symbility, Xactimate, Blueprint, Synergy or similar (or being very IT confident & willing to learn a new system) is required for this role.Contracts Manager job role and responsibilities

  • Manage a case load of property reinstatement projects (domestic & commercial)
  • Schedule repairs/redecoration works and produce scopes
  • Manage contractors and repairs projects to completion (inc. cost management)
  • Ensure Health & Safety / CDM compliance & carry out site audits
  • Identify new contractors for addition to the network as required
  • Performance manage/audit the contractors in your area
What skills/experience will you needExperience in contract managing property refurbishments / renovation projects is essential. Some insurance claim damage or subsidence experience/knowledge would be ideal as you will be dealing with the post subsidence stabilisation reinstatement works(crack repairs/redecoration etc.).
  • Ideally you will have worked for a loss adjuster, insurance company or specialist contractor and in the private sector.
  • Some knowledge of insurance claims or fire/flood/water/subsidence damage to properties would be advantageous.
  • Working knowledge of; Asbestos Handling, CDM, DPA, H&S, Party Wall Act is required.
  • Ideally; a building/technical related qualification such as an HNC or Building Surveying/Engineering Degree (not essential with the right experience).
  • You will need strong customer service, communication & organisational skills, be IT literate and have a full UK driving licence.
