Job Description

Applications are invited for the posts of Clinical Fellow (Higher) in Paediatric Retrieval and Paediatric Intensive Care (PaNDR) at Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (CUH). These posts are to commence from 01 March 2021 until 05 September 2021 with the possibility to extend for a further 6 months.These are some of several new posts created to support the exciting new development of a Paediatric Retrieval Service for the East of England. This Service will be co-located with the existing Neonatal Service based on site at Addenbrookes and will be known as PaNDR, the Paediatric and Neonatal Decision Support and Retrieval Service. This Service is being designed to run 10 hours a day seven days a week and will cover Norfolk, Suffolk and Cambridgeshire, working alongside the existing provider CATS. Post holders will also gain experience in Paediatric Intensive and High dependency Care. The post holder will be supported to follow the PICS-ATG Transport Passport Curriculum as per the RCPCH PICM Retrieval competencies.These posts will be appealing to senior Trainees including post CCT holders who are wishing to gain further Acute Paediatric experience. It would be particularly suited to those wishing to gain experience at middle grade level in a centre of excellence.Those applying for these posts should have previous experience of at least 12 months in a PICU with two years Paediatric training. Applications will also be welcomed from individuals with at least two years of experience of Anaesthesia, or Accident and Emergency. In all cases MRCPCH or equivalent is essential.The post holders will participate on the Middle Grade out of hours rota, which is a full shift pattern.Support for study leave will be given and participation in research and audit activities is strongly encouraged, although the training opportunities associated with these posts will be equal to those for the Specialty Registrars in the department.Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust includes Addenbrooke’s and the Rosie Hospitals.
