Were looking for a bright and ambitious C# Software Engineer with a passion for seriously high-tech product development! The Software Engineer will be involved in the full product lifecycle developing software to control cutting edge scientific instrumentation.This includes the PC- based (Windows/Linux) user interface, machine control software, low-level hardware interfacing, TCP/IP based network communications and unit test. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to work closely with the real-time embeddedsoftware engineers and explore embedded software design. This position is open to candidates who are strong in PC Application software development - you bring skills in one and well teach you the other!You must have a desire to want to learn both skillsets and have excellent knowledge of C#.NET. This is not a run of the mill software developer role just redesigning the same old wheel or adding bells and whistles to someone elses design! You will be involvedin fast moving projects where you will see new products go from concept to delivery in double quick time. The R&D department is state of the art with all the latest development kit plus youll be working with some of the UKs brightest hardware and softwaredevelopment Engineers. Exciting projects, stimulating company and all the toys you could wish for (did we mention that the pays good too)Requirements of C# Software Engineer:Essential* 1st or a 2.1 degree (BEng / MEng / MSc etc.) with significant software engineering content (e.g. Computer Science, Electronics, Control Systems Engineering, etc.)* Excellent communication and presentation skills* A good mixture of design, implementation and test capabilities* Experience in C#/.NET, Visual Studio, version control software* A familiarity with any of the following: VHDL, digital or analogue electronics, PLC programming, WPF or other GUI design.
