Job Description

Biophysics Senior Scientist:Opportunity for a PhD level scientist to make a key contribution to developing a PROTAC platform and gain experience in biophysical methods and drug discovery.Client DetailsPatient-focused global pharmaceutical company that frequently pushes the boundaries of what is possible to deliver life-changing medicines. They have strong commitments to sustainability, patients and their own employees.DescriptionBiophysics Senior Scientist:

  • Collaborate with biochemical and cellular assay development scientists, protein scientists, structural biologists and chemists to create new E3 ligase ligands for protac molecules
  • Provide quantitative SPR data on protein-ligand binding including affinity and kinetic data to inform chemistry design and mechanistic understanding
  • Develop and run fragment screens providing high quality data to inform design of reversible and covalent leads
  • Validate and characterise hits from various screens (HTS, DNA-encoded library, virtual)
  • Learn and deploy new biophysical methods
Profile
  • PhD in biophysics or another relevant discipline.
  • Experience in biophysical characterisation of molecular interactions using methods such as SPR, ITC, DSF, or fluorescence-based methods.
  • A track record of peer-reviewed publications or patents.
  • Experience in drug discovery, preferably in the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry.
