We are working with exciting a fast-paced biotech that are looking for a Data Architect to join them at their office in Cambridge with some remote working possible.The company has generated a vast resource of sequence data from individuals who show particular resilience to disease. The Data Architect will help to create new ways to store, access and visualise these data. As the company grows, you will support the tech team to integrate and ingest new forms of complex biological data. This role would suit a computer scientist or data engineer with an interest in biology or biotech. ResponsibilitiesUsing your computational expertise, you will help to find new solutions to the storage and access of complex data types. ·Creating and developing data models for the storage of complex biological data types ·Becoming the in-house expert in the data management systems (including Dotmatics, Airtable, and custom databases) ·Facilitating data entry through your scripting abilities ·Ensuring the best data management practices are upheld across the organisation ·Applying data processing and analysis pipelines developed to new datasets, as well as helping in the development of new pipelines ·Working collaboratively with the team and with external partners ·Presenting your ideas and novel work to employees from a wide range of technical backgrounds ·Keeping current on new cloud computing techniques, methodologies and approaches that might enhance the platform Experience & RequirementsEssential ·A Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science or related field ·Proficiency with Python ·Experience with PostgreSQL, MySQL or similar ·A team player who proactively and directly communicates and collaborates with other team members Desirable ·Experience in the drug discovery industry ·Experience with Airtable ·Experience with Dotmatics ·Experience with noSQL approaches to data Experience of building and deploying web applications in AWS Required skills
