Job Description

CK Group are recruiting for a Bioinformatician to join a company in the Pharmaceutical industry at their site based in Cambridge on a contract basis for 12 months.Salary:Up to £590 per day LTDBioinformatician Role:

  • Work as part of multi-disciplinary teams spanning pathology, bioinformatics, and translational medicine to understand their scientific and technical challenges and proactively impact these.
  • Apply your strong statistical/analytical skills to the development of novel metrics from images.
  • Use your familiarity with cancer biology/drug discovery to convert these into actionable insights driving discovery and development of the next generation of cancer medicines.
  • Discover, design, and implement innovative ways to identify and visualize meaningful patterns in complex data.
  • Work with our bench scientists to proactively influence the generation of data assets as part of a data generation strategy.
  • Share code and train peers and bench scientists in the tools critical to interpreting complex data.
Your Background:
  • Relevant PhD (or equivalent graduate degree plus proven applied experience), combining:
  • Technical expertise in applied biostatistics, computational biology or data science.
  • A deep understanding of the molecular mechanisms driving cancer or immunological disorders.
  • R and/or Python programming and visualization expertise.
  • Familiarity with the Unix environment and high-performance computing environments.
