Job Description

Bid ManagerSalary: £32,100 - £41,700Location: CambridgeContract: 12-month Fixed Term ContractWe are Cambridge University Press & Assessment, a world-leading academic publisher and assessment organisation and a proud part of the University of Cambridge.Our Cambridge Partnership for Education (CPE) Bids and Proposals unit have an exciting opportunity for a Bid Manager, where you will play a key role in supporting CPE to secure bids and proposals with high-stakes clients and help them achieve their globalmission of transforming societies through education.About the roleCPE partners with ministries of education and international development organisations to improve the quality of education systems. We develop bespoke solutions to suit a countrys individual context, need and vision so that we can have a real impact.As a Bid Manager, you will manage and coordinate the end-to-end bid and proposal process to deliver compliant, professionally produced proposals within customer defined timeframes.Using your excellent communication skills, you will coordinate and review/edit proposal input from a variety of stakeholders, typically involving contributions from Business Development, Technical, Delivery and Corporate Services teams, as well as the widerUniversity and external partners.You will support the Head of Bids and Proposals with activities to raise the commercial awareness of the technical teams during proposal writing, costing and pricing processes. You will be comfortable managing both the commercial and technical aspects ofa proposal for each opportunity.About youYou will have exceptional project management skills and will be a strong collaborator. With your proven ability in planning, producing, and delivering compliant proposals within a complex business environment, you will be happy to hit the ground runningand a confident problem solver.You will ideally have knowledge and experience of procurement processes for and responding to tenders & regulatory requirements.You will be able to provide leadership and direction to all grades of staffing in order to successfully produce and deliver proposals. Communicating and influencing at a senior level, internally and externally, you will be comfortable working on your owninitiative in all areas of this role. You will also have:

  • Strong attention to detail
  • Strong IT skills
  • Strong written English language skills
