Job Description

BI Developer. £50k + Benefits Package. Hybrid role - 1 day a week onsite. Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, Permanent. T6/MN/18268. Leading international organisation is seeking to secure an experienced BI Developer. The role will sit within a small BI Team which is part of a much larger IT function. The BI Developer to be involved in the complete business intelligence development lifecycle.The role will involve BI development, BI support, governance & guidance onbest practices to teams. Role:

  • Undertake all aspects MicrosoftBIrelated development - Power BI, T-SQL & ETL.
  • Develop & presentingBI prototypes.
  • Design & Develop (structured & unstructured) Data Acquisition, Movement,Transformation processes between application/services/solutions (SSIS, Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks, other enterprise ETL Platform).
  • Undertake Data Warehouse design, development & testing, aligned to Kimball/Data Vault design methodologies.
  • Design & Develop Master Data Entities - provide data quality guidance & best practices.
  • Design & develop business data models.
  • Design & develop data integration processes between applications & business systems.
  • Design, Deliver & Support Reporting solutions - Power BI, Excel, QlikView and other 3rd party reporting applications.
  • Assess legacy reporting applications - provide suitable recommendations for recommendations/upgrades.
  • Document all BI/ETLdevelopment,data structures & maintain thedocumentation.
  • Provide data and Business Intelligence application & technical support to end users.
  • Undertake and support IT governance processes (Licence review etc.).
  • Support Business Intelligence operational support activities (maintenance, health check, daily maintenance etc).
  • Provide mentorship and development support to other team members.
Technical Skills Required:
  • BI development & BI application user support.
  • T-SQL, Stored Procedures, Views, User-Defined Functions & Performance Tuning.
  • SQL Performance tuning - Indexes & Queries.
  • ETL - SSIS - hands-on experience.
  • Power BI - hands-on experience / DAX experience is desirable.
  • Working with Structured & Unstructured data sources.
  • Data Warehousing experience.
  • Data Modelling experience - ideally Kimball Methodology.
  • Proactive approach.
  • Able to work effectively as part of a remote based team.
  • Collaborative approach to teamwork.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Desirable Experience:
  • Azure BI Technologies - Azure Data Factory, Azure Analysis Services & Functions.
  • Self-serviceCloud & HybridBI Solutions.
  • Data Management / Data Governance Practice.
  • QlikView - development & support experience.
