Title: Back-End DeveloperLocation: CambridgeSalary: £26,000.00- £32,000.00REED Technology have the pleasure to be working with a global not for profit organisation in their search for a Back-End Developer to join their team in Cambridge. This company does some amazing work in tackling one of the biggest issues of our time and is at the forefront of helping to ensure that the future is bright for future generations.They work across a variety of projects that provide solutions to the private sector, governmental bodies and other not for profit organisations. They are looking for a motivated back-end developer to join their growing team and work with them on their new projects this year as well as developing their projects flagship sites.The idea candidate for this position will need commercial experience in web development and demonstrable experience of back-end development skills. Their web projects are typically built with JavaScript (Vue.js) on top of Ruby on Rails. Most of their projects involve databases (PostgreSQL) and mapping and geospatial analysis so experience with PostGIS, Mapbox, CartoDB, ArcGIS or similar would be beneficial.They are looking for someone with a passion to produce high quality outputs as well as a desire to continue learning. You will have an interest in designing and manipulating performance-proof databases and producing easy-maintainable and tested Ruby code.They collaborate on multiple projects across the organisation simultaneously so are looking for people who thrive working in a team as well as being confident working independently.They also do work in process automation and data science where experience in scripting languages (bash, R, Python) would be valuable.On top of the benefits package, this role offers the opportunity to work from home at least one day a week as well as flexible working arrangements, there is also free parking on site and a 12 % non-contributory pension scheme.If you meet the above criteria for the Back-End Developer role we would love to hear from you.
