Job Description

Location: Cambridge (Site Based) - core hours: 8am-4pm or 9am-5pm (Monday to Friday)My client is a Forbes listed global service provider to the largest and most successful blue-chip companies across the Life Sciences, Biotechnology and Pharmaceutical sectors.Key examples of these services include Sourcing & Multi-vendor Asset Management, Data Advisory, Program Management, and Innovation & Customer Engagement.These bespoke services enable their customers to focus on what really matters to them which is often live saving scientific research & discovery.The role of Automation Equipment Engineer:

  • Act as the first response to critical equipment breakdowns with the Laboratory Robotics/ Robotic Automated Systems and equipment used for High Throughput Screening and Compound Management systems by world leading manufacturers such as HighRes Biosolutions,Agilent (Bravo), Tecan (Evo Liquid Handler), SPT Labtech and Beckman Coulter to name just a few day
  • Ensuring all critical science is protected, maintaining on organised and clean working environment
  • Working with the key equipment users, wider engineering team and our suppliers ensure that all key laboratory automation platforms are operationally functional to support the customers science needs
  • Develop and implement a proactive maintenance regime for the equipment that supports High Throughput Screening platforms
  • Carryout on-going system performance analysis based upon error logs, live run interventions and root-cause analysis & trending of errors to mitigate their reoccurrence
  • Develop innovative support solutions that bring value to our customer
The Requirements of Automation Equipment Engineer:
  • You will already have 3+ years experience working as an Engineer - maintaining, calibrating and repairing Automated Equipment/ Robotic Automation ideally on a production line type setting (could be working in industries such as Life Sciences / Pharma, Chemicals,Rail Manufacturing, FMCG, Food/ Drink, Automotive, Medical or a closely related industry)
  • Educated to HNC/HND or BEng/Meng level in a relevant engineering discipline such as: Computer Science, Mechatronics, Robotics, Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or Scientific / Chemistry based (minimum of a Bachelors degree) would also be considered
  • PC literate in Microsoft packages (Word, Excel, PowerPoint etc.)
