Job Description

The position is based in Cambridge and there may even be the opportunity for you to travel internationally as part of your role of Associate Formulation Engineer. Working as part of the Research team, your efforts will focus on device and materials innovations in plastic electronics, which is a massively growing area! You will get involved in the development and assessment of advanced materials and applying these intothe devices. Its a hands-on role, working alongside other exceptional engineers, whom you will have the opportunity to learn from and grow your skills. Loads of really cool projects for you to get your teeth stuck into! The Role:

  • Responsibility for rapid, high-quality product fabrication, including:
    • Formulation of OTFT material compounds
    • Validating sourced materials
    • Troubleshooting
    • Assessing formulation quality and stability
    • Creating specific formulations for customers
    • Writing SOPs
    • Helping with formulation scale-ups for manufacture
  • Testing and data management including recording, analysis and reporting
  • Lab-based experimentation
  • Provide concise, written experimental results
  • Work with thin film deposition and characterisation techniques
About You:
  • Degree in Materials Science / Chemistry or equivalent practical experience
  • Proven experience with the development and documentation of quality control tests and specifications
  • Experience of materials / chemical formulation in a lab, cleanroom or industrial environment
  • Proven experience of working in a multidisciplinary team
  • High attention to detail
