In order to develop life-changing medicines, we approach problems in a unique way – agile, forward-thinking, and passionate about what our people need to make outstanding discoveries.The Associate Director, Oncology R&D Communications will develop and deliver materials in support of a coordinated global corporate affairs strategy for Oncology R&D across all channels, including major breakthroughs and congresses.We need you to cultivate positive relationships with our Oncology R&D scientists and other key scientific leaders to support elevation of ORD science content on both external and internal channels. He/she will also partner with the AstraZeneca therapeutic (TA and other relevant corporate affairs teams to coordinate relevant reputation-enhancing content for the global editorial calendar, including medical congresses, publications and other relevant breakthroughs. This person will also help amplify Oncology R&D-related scientific achievements within global AstraZeneca channels, both external and internal.We are seeking a strategic problem solver with the ability to develop project plans and execute communications optimally. He/she has expert-level organizational and time management skills to support numerous projects, deliver against tight deadlines, coordinate with multiple functions and/or regions and successfully partner with internal clients and leaders. We are looking for a candidate who embodies a team-focused spirit and who is passionate about working in corporate affairs within the pharmaceuticals/biotech industry.The ideal candidate will have an ability to tell compelling stories around sophisticated science, bringing to life the importance of innovation, imagination, and acceleration in delivering one of the industry’s most exciting oncology pipelines.This role may be based in Gaithersburg, MD - US or Cambridge - UK. Key Accountabilities: Champion AstraZeneca’s Oncology R&D science across internal and external stakeholders, helping to strengthen our reputation and identity as a scientific leader within the industry
