Job Description

Assay Development Scientist - Biotechnology - CambridgeNewton Colmore Consulting have partnered with an exciting biotech in Cambridge who are looking for an experienced assay development scientist to join their team on an 18-month fixed term contract.Upon joining the company, the Assay Development Scientist, reporting directly to the Head of Assay Development, you will be part of the scientific R&D team, working towards the development and evaluation of complex DNA-based assays.Your key responsibilities will be;

  • Developing and optimising DNA based assays for the evaluation of novel bio-functionalised nanoparticles for end-use applications.
  • Developing methods to functionalise surfaces with high density arrays of DNA.
  • Supporting material development of novel fluorescent nanoparticles by carrying out assay work using established protocols
To be considered for this exciting role you will need to have the following;
  • Experience with working on DNA based assays, coupled with a PhD in molecular biology or similar field
  • Any experience with fluorescence-based biochemical techniques and methods for characterizing ligand-analyte interactions would be extremely beneficial.
