HRS are currently looking for an Assay Development Scientist to join a leading biotech company based in the Cambridgeshire area. As the Assay Development Scientist, you will be part of the drug development team and responsible for developing and optimising PCR, flow Cytometry and Microbiology assays to support GMP manufacturing and early phase clinical trials.KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Your duties as the Assay Development Scientist will be varied however the key duties and responsibilities are as follows:1. You will be responsible for the development of various molecular biology assays including PCR, qPCR.2. You will be developing bacterial viability assays using flow cytometry techniques.3. You will develop and optimise microbiology assay to assess bacterial viability and physiology.4. As the Assay Development Scientist, you will be working closely with multi-disciplinary team in the development of cutting edge therapeutics,ROLE REQUIREMENTS:To be successful in your application to this exciting opportunity as the Assay Development Scientist we are looking to identify the following on your profile and past history:1. Relevant degree in Biological Sciences, including Microbiology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry. A PhD is required or a BSc with relevant experience in an industrial setting, 2. Proven industry experience in or relevant post-doc experience with industrial partners. 3. A working knowledge and practical experience with anaerobic bacteria is desirable but not essential.
