Job Description

TEC Partners are recruiting for an Assay Development Scientist to join a leading molecular diagnostics company that are focusing on developing and manufacturing an innovative PCR testing device for primary care.The technology focuses on cutting the cost and time required for conventional molecular diagnostic tests by developing an innovative medical device accessible to any healthcare professionals.You will be a part of a close team of experienced molecular scientists and biologists, collaborating closely with other engineers and scientists. As the role is based in a Biology team, it would be ideal for someone with microbiology and extensive assaydeveloping background.Essential skills and experience

  • PhD or equivalent work experience in microbiology or related discipline (including biology)
  • Highly experienced in RT, qRT-PCR, and nucleic acid extraction techniques
  • Experienced in bacterial and tissue culture
  • Experience in assay and experiment development, design, improvement, and data analysis
  • Experience in reagent formulation and assessing reagent performance
  • Good laboratory practice, competent in using standard instrumentation
Desirable experience
  • IVD industry experience
  • Experience or knowledge of ISO 13485 or similar standards
  • Experience working with microfluidics or integrated biological systems
  • Experience in integration of disciplines, e.g. data science and engineering

  • Willing to work as part of the team and have a can-do attitude
  • Strong communication skills and proven ability to present yourself clearly to others
  • Strong attention to detail
