Job Description

Pure are partnering a higher Educational organisation based in the heart of Cambridge, that are looking to recruit an Accounts Payable Lead into their dynamic Accounting Services team.Their team comprises Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and Cash Management. They are driving the force behind financial operations, working tirelessly to ensure efficiency, accuracy, and compliance across the board.As the Accounts Payable Lead, you will play a pivotal role in managing a wide range of financial functions, including supplier payments, supplier account reconciliation, Oracle module upgrades, and corporate credit card administration. Your responsibilitieswill encompass overseeing the entire Accounts Payable function, ensuring the accurate and timely maintenance of data with their business.Key Responsibilities:

  • Streamline processing, efficiently handling and resolving any associated queries.
  • Collaborate with the Procurement Team to optimise the process for all suppliers.
  • Ensure meticulous reconciliation of the Accounts Payable control accounts with the General Ledger, and work with systems staff to enhance existing systems and resolve data discrepancies.
  • Lead comprehensive testing of upgrades, providing sign-off each successful upgrade.
  • Manage access controls for departmental staff in the Supplier Online database.
  • Oversee the opening and closing of accounting periods in accordance with the prescribed timetable.
  • Thoroughly review and approve all International Payments, ensuring strict adherence to financial procedures before authorising payments.
  • Assume responsibility for reviewing and approving the majority of electronic foreign currency payments, averaging 1,000 payments per month. Ensuring that controls and procedure are meticulously adhere to.
  • Supervise the team responsible for supplier setup, working closely with the procurement team to ensure proper onboarding, master data management, and adhere to vendor management policies.
