Water is essential to life, so our business is always open.What is the purpose of this roleThe Technical Co-ordinator is an exciting predominately field-based role, working as part of the Field Operations team within Waste Pumping. They will be focussed on maintaining and improving pumping station infrastructure, managing projectsand activities across a designated catchment and providing support on larger scale projects.Technical Co-ordinators are responsible for designing complex jobs (using SAP software) for work at our sewage pumping stations. They design jobs and build dependencies between tasks ensuring any prerequisites (materials, permits, and services) are in placeto allow work to be completed by Field Technicians as scheduled.Duties will include:

  • Co-ordinate briefed projects and activities.
  • Provide technical support to determine solutions to problems and to ensure a robust stable and efficient operation.
  • Raise permits to work.
  • Follow funding processes to be followed where funding dictates.
  • Responsible for assuring that all new assets or those modified post project completion are updated in our records.
  • Raising asset-related purchase orders.
  • Issuing safety authorization permits for technical planning activity.
  • Plan works by liaising with internal operations managers and ensuring that the correct skills, equipment, and materials are being delivered and utilized efficiently to avoid aborted visits.
  • Responsible for maintaining a safe and organized stock/inventory of parts and equipment which reflects the status of the work order.
  • Out of Hours Coordinator.
  • Health and safety awareness including Safety Health and Environment audits, and management of health and safety actions.
  • Obtain material quotations and contractor quotations for asset-related work against a works order.
  • Raise and goods receipt purchase orders.
Were looking for you to:
  • Have strong skills in operations, maintenance, engineering, finance, H&S, stakeholder engagement, and customer focus.
  • Have water Network experience and must have proven experience in pressure management of Water Supply, distribution systems, and Maintenance.
  • Have excellent people and performance skills
  • Have strong health and safety and customer-based ethic
  • Have financial skills and ability to demonstrate identifying and achieving financial efficiencies
  • Have excellent organizational and risk management skills
  • Have Mechanical/ Instrumentational background with network asset knowledge and awareness of SCADA would be beneficial but not essential
