Job Description

We operate a network of websites to help connect individuals with professionals in areas such ascounselling, life coaching, therapy and nutrition. If you can answer YES to the above questions then this role might be just what you are looking for!The RoleWe are now looking for a Senior PHP Developer with full stack experience to join our engineering team in a partly remote and partly office-based capacity to help improve our existing services and applications, and to build new ones.A typical working week may involve...
  • Collaborating with the development team to improve our platform for our customers via Discord, Slack and Github.
  • Building new tools and improvements to our websites to connect people in need of help with self-care information and wellness professionals.
  • Helping us transition legacy aspects of our application to an MVC / Laravel structure.
  • Contributing to our growing open source code library.
  • Taking part in regular engineering sprints to test new technology.
  • Giving a tech talk / demo to the rest of the team.
  • Ensuring our code and infrastructure is fast and secure.
RequirementsEssential skills, qualifications and experienceApplicants should have the following skills and experience:
  • Front-end development HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript etc...
  • 5+ years PHP development experience.
  • Knowledge of PHP Frameworks: WordPress, Laravel, MVC and PSR standards
Desirable skillsFull stack knowledge in any of the following areas would be desirable, but is not essential:
  • Web server (Apache/NGINX) configuration
  • Database and storage engines (MySQL / Elasticsearch / Redis)
  • Deployment automation (Docker, Ansible)
  • Cloud platforms (e.g. CloudFlare, AWS, GCP)
  • Server monitoring (such as Data Dog), code profiling, continuous integration, page speed optimisation (CalibreApp, Lighthouse)
