Job Description

A multinational leisure corporation in the Camberley area is looking for an Assistant Accountant to backfill a vacancy created by a recent internal move. Reporting to the Finance Manager, the jobholder will support both them and the Financial Accountant(who was placed by CMA Recruitment a year ago) in accomplishing the financial management duties for the UK business.This is a developmental role suitable for an ambitious finance professional with a few years’ relevant experience plus a degree or AAT qualification. Mindset is more important than skill set as the latter can be taught.   • Review monthly profit & loss and balance sheet ready for approval;
  • Preparation of journal entries;
  • Assist with the preparation of annual financial statements, budgeting and forecasting, and Group tax reporting;
  • Support with local tax compliance (VAT, corporation tax) and other local regulations;
  • Dealing with local audits (external & internal).
Suitable Candidate for the Assistant Accountant vacancy:
  • Previous accounting and finance experience, ideally gained in an international environment, with some exposure to general ledger functions and the month end/year end close process;
  • Good working knowledge of accounting principles and procedures;
  • Proficient user of MS Office with excellent Excel skills; knowledge of SAP beneficial;
  • University degree (preferably in Finance or Business) and/or working towards an accounting qualification (AAT or early-stage ACCA).
