CHESTERFIELD ROYAL HOSPITALNHS FOUNDATION TRUST Medicine & Emergency Care DivisionCONSULTANT HAEMATOLOGIST 40 hours plus on call rotaApplications are invited for a Consultant Haematologist at Chesterfield Royal Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. This is a replacement post. The successful candidate will be based at Chesterfield Royal Hospital and will join the current team of 5 consultants, delivering Haematology services including BSH level 2 care for the population of North Derbyshire (approximately 400,000). The Haematology team is supported by a dedicated Haematology junior doctor for inpatient care, three Clinical Nurse Specialists in Haematology, a Transfusion Specialist, a team of Haemato-Oncology Pharmacists, and excellent teams on the Chemotherapy unit and Medical Day Case Unit. The Haematology team is based in the NGS Macmillan Unit, a new purpose built facility with outpatient area, treatment suite, patient information and support centre and office space.For cancer services, the Haematology team is part of the South Yorkshire Haemato-Oncology network. The Haematology team at Chesterfield works closely with the Haemato-Oncology services at Sheffield Teaching Hospitals, where the regional centre for stem cell transplantation is based. Specialist services for patients with inherited disorders of coagulation are also based at Sheffield.Chesterfield is a high performing Trust in a very pleasant location, serving the urban population of Chesterfield and a large rural population from the Peak District, which is on our doorstep.Applicants would be expected to have a broad range of haematology skills and experience, but special interests may be accommodated.
