CHESTERFIELD ROYAL HOSPITAL NHS FOUNDATION TRUST - Integrated Care DivisionSubstantive Consultant Post – Community Paediatrics / Post: 10 Programmed Activities Applications are invited for this whole time consultant post, within a friendly and enthusiastic team of paediatricians.A full time Consultant Paediatrician at Chesterfield Royal Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. with an interest in Community Paediatrics. If there are any other areas of community work including initial and review health assessment of children in care, it could be expressed and would be welcome. Expected base of work is at Chesterfield Royal Hospital. There is no out of hours work unless interested in contributing to the SUDI on call on 1 in 4 rota which would receive a 3% supplement.Any candidate who is unable for personal reasons to work full time will be eligible to be considered for the post; if such a person is appointed, modification of the job content will be discussed on a personal basis between the appointee, Clinical Lead, Divisional Director, Medical Director and the Chief Executive.The successful applicant will join 5 other consultants providing community Paedatric services. There are also 11 other paediatric consultants providing shared responsibilities for neonatal intensive care (level 2), general paediatrics, and speciality pediatrics services including diabetes, renal medicine, respiratory medicine, cardiology, gastroenterology, epilepsy within an integrated child health service which includes CAMHS.This modern District General Hospital of approximately 600 beds provides acute services in all the major specialties for Chesterfield and the surrounding rural area of North Derbyshire, serving a population of approximately 350,000. The hospital has an excellent friendly atmosphere making it popular with medical staff, and is located close to the Peak District National Park where the local scenery and opportunities for outdoor activities are exceptional.There are good road and rail links between Chesterfield and London and other major cities in the country. Sheffield, Nottingham and Derby are approximately 14 miles, 24 miles and 26 miles respectively. The M1 motorway passes within the eastern boundary of the District, providing an easy link with the East Midland Airport.
