Job Description

Toolmaker – Plastic Injection MouldingAn exciting position has become available for a full time Toolmaker – Plastic Injection Moulding to join a friendly team based in Caerphilly. The successful candidate will work day shifts, 39 hours per week, working times in the toolroom are generally flexible. The candidate will earn a competitive salary plus OTE.Role Requirements

  • A time-served Toolmaker with a minimum of 5 years’ experience in the manufacture & repair of plastic injection tooling.
  • All the fundamental machining & hand-skills will be needed to a high standard, particularly in the fitting, dressing, finishing, shutting-off & polishing of plastic injection moulds.
  • Conventional machining skills are paramount as the company have a supporting team for CAD-CAM & CNC.
  • Candidates with strong process knowledge of plastic injection moulding would be favoured to join the existing team of toolmakers & CNC engineers.
    • Role Responsibilities
  • As a Toolmaker, you will be responsible for the repair and maintenance of Plastic Injection Moulds
  • You will also be responsible for manufacturing “One off” machine parts
  • Repair of mould tool inserts
  • Making tooling with a variety of equipment, including Mills, Lathes, Surface Grinders and Spark Erodes
  • Completing remanufacturing duties in house
  • Working on hot runner systems

These products are of the highest standard for customers who are international manufacturers.Employing approximately 80 staff, the company has a well-equipped and modern mould-shop with additional facilities for paint-spraying, printing, and product assembly.The supporting Engineering Department includes a clean & modern toolroom for the maintenance and repair of all the injection mould-tooling, jigs, and fixtures.The products are varied and the tooling ranges from simple single-cavity cold-fed moulds to complex multi-cavity tools with hot runner systems.Why should you apply
