Job Description

Test technician required to join a global manufacturing company that has been trading for over 70 years. They have 10+ sites globally and are a market leader for the technology they provide delivering bespoke solutions for a wide variety of customersand sectors. There has been experiencing consistent growth in recent years and offers an excellent benefits package inclusive of a potential annual bonus and BUPA medical cover.You will work as part of a production team working closely with the production supervisor with responsibility for the final inspection and testing of products. There will also be a requirement to fault find to component level and repair electronic boardswhere necessary.The electronics test technician will work days Monday to Friday and there is usually regular overtime available at enhanced rates to boost your salary.Test technician responsibilities will include:

  • Final inspection and functional testing for a variety of products
  • Electronic board testing.
  • Reading electronic schematics
  • Fault finding down to a component level
  • Electronic board repair work
  • Notification of stock materials shortages before they are fully exhausted
  • Taking part in monthly and annual stock take processes
  • General housekeeping of department
To apply for the electronics test technician position, you will need:
  • Experience of working in a manufacturing environment
  • A recognised vocational qualification in electrical or electronic engineering (HND, HNC, NVQ, VRQ, ONC, City & Guilds, etc.)
  • Ability to read electrical drawings and schematics
  • Experience in fault finding and repairing to component level
  • The ability to read mechanical drawings is desirable
  • Flexibility to work overtime as required to meet targets/deadlines
