Technical Engineering ManagerPermanentCaerphillyAcorn is looking to recruit an experienced, forward thinking and motivated engineer with exceptional knowledge and experience of the injection moulding industry. Reporting to the Operations Manager, the successful candidate will become part of the Senior Management Team and will have direct input in all aspects of the company. Our client is a successful and growing business with significant growth plans for the future. The successful candidate MUST HAVE solid processing and technical Injection Moulding experience. Previous management experience would be preferable however for the exceptional candidate, our client will consider applicants that have supervisory experience only and are looking to progress into a managerial position.Responsible for:3 Technicians3 Setters1 Toolroom Technician1 Maintenance EngineerKey Accountabilities* Provide clear, direct instructions and guidance to your Team* Direct the team so as to continually achieve and exceed health & safety, productivity, planned schedule, cost, customer service and continuous improvement* Attain the quality targets set* Encourage a good team working environment* Develop all Team MembersHealth and Safety:* Ensure that the Team, including those undertaken on the Companys behalf by third party service providers, are conducted in manner that fully complies with health and safety, quality, personnel and SWPs.* Encourage a positive H & S Culture within the team, encouraging a proactive approach to Near Miss, hazard and accident reportingProduction:* Carryout regular & consistent shift changeover. Involving all shift departments* Complete Shift log accurately* Use machine monitoring software to identify, monitor and improve on tool changes, cycle times* Report and give feedback in Morning, BI & Technical meetings using machine monitoring software to discuss and improve cycle times, scrap levels, process.* Monitor team are accurately inputting of tool change times, downtime and scrap recording Technical* All Team members are adhering to SWPs for Injection moulding machines & relevant process* Trial of new products (NPI), into full productionQuality* Last off procedure is adhered to * Line Clearance procedure is adhered to and signed off accordingly* 8D investigation when required including use of Quality Tools: 5Y IshikawaTraining* Motivate, train and develop the team, managing its performance to maintain an effective workforce capable of meeting its current and projected objectives.* Identify training requirements and plan accordinglyHR* Carryout and ensure all appraisals are up-to-date* Ensure all return to Work interviews are carried out on same day* Authorisation of overtime and completion of OT sheet* Handle first line disciplinary issues with all staff: poor workmanship, late, absent, unacceptable behaviourCOMPETENCIES* Managing and Developing People* Directing others towards a goal, motivating and supporting them to achieve it.
