Job Description

Long Term Role - Learning Support Assistant, Caerphilly September 2022.

Is the answer to the above yes If so, then we might have the ideal role for you. At Academics, we are currently recruiting on behalf of a primary school in Caerphilly who are seeking to employ an experienced Learning Support Assistant (LSA). The role islong term and for five days a week and will start in September 2022.The ideal candidate will be someone who has experience of working with children with Special Educational Needs (SEN), who is genuinely passionate about the education of young people and who is capable of using their initiative and being both positive andproactive in a professional environment.The Responsibilities of an LSA Include
  • Providing support for pupils either in the classroom or on a 1:1 basis
  • Working as part of an already successful team to ensure that the learning and social objectives of the learners are met
  • Providing both praise and reinforcements
  • Promote and support the inclusion of all pupils
  • Use behaviour management strategies, in line with the schools policy and procedures, to contribute to a purposeful learning environment and encourage pupils to interact and work co-operatively with each other.
The essentials
  • Graduate Degree (desirable)
  • An enhanced DBS check (essential) which is subscribed to the DBS Update Service (desirable)
  • Registration with the Education Workforce Council (EWC) (essential)
  • Two recent classroom based references
  • A good standard of Literacy, Numeracy and Communication skills
  • Experience of working in an SEN classroom (essential)
What to expect from Academics
  • Salary of between £70 and £85 per day (depending on experience)
