You will be joining as an integral and valued member of our Finance Team. As Management Accountant, you will report to the Group Financial Controller and work extensivelywith the wider Finance Team. It’s a busy and diverse role so you’ll need to be organised and enjoy working in a fast-paced business. Experience is essential as well as a positive attitude and great communication and numeracy skills. You’ll join a supportivefriendly team in a secure company with excellent benefit.Your role as Management Accountant at phs Group will involve:

• Preparation of periodic management accounts and reconciliation of all balance sheet accounts
• Reviewing controls and processes, making improvements where necessary
• Supporting, coaching, and developing the management accounts team
• Providing support to the senior management team and finance business partners
• Liaising with internal and external auditors
• Experience of statutory accounts preparation and consolidations
• Preparing and submitting VAT returns
• Preparing and distributing daily, weekly and periodic reports, developing reports as required

The ideal candidate for a Management Accountant with phs Group will have:

• A broad financial management background with the ability to provide incisive, user-friendly management information and meaningful financial analysis
• Experience of carrying out both external and internal audits, and preparing management accounts
• Positive communication skills, providing advice and information to senior colleagues
• A high attention to detail, providing accurate, timely reporting
• Excellent numeric, verbal and written communication and presentation skills
• Experience using Microsoft packages, especially Word and Excel (look-ups, pivot tables)
• The ability to effectively prioritise in a busy environment to meet deadlines
• A recognised accountancy qualification (ACA, ACCA, ACMA) is preferred for this position
• We’re looking for a self-starter, with a positive attitude to change and a “completer / finisher” mentality
