Due to growth a great opportunity for a permanent Machinist to join a fantastic organisation in Caerphilly. This role offers a good benefits package of onsite parking, 5 weeks holidays, pension scheme and end of year company profitability bonus.The starting salary will be £ 25,106 plus shift allowance rising to £28,116 plus shift allowance after 6 monthsThis role operates on 2 shift patterns working on rolling 2 weekly basis working:Mornings Monday - Thursday 6am - 2.30pm, 6am - 12 noon Friday.Afternoons Monday - Wednesday 2pm - midnight, Thursday 2pm - 11.30pmYou will be working in a team of machinists in the machining of valve components, in accordance with company standards and customer requirements.Reporting to: Machine Shop Supervisor/Machine Shop ManagerDuties:The machining of valve components in accordance with company standards and customer requirementsAbility to understand Engineering drawing, to ensure the programs and setting sheets are updated and controlledEnsure that all work undertaken is done in a safe manner in accordance with Health & Safety proceduresTo carry out the inspection of components prior to delivery to storesTime served apprenticeship in machining would be an advantageRecognised technical qualification in a related discipline (e.g. HND, Apprenticeship trained etc.)Computer literate use of windows based environmentWhat is needed:Experience within a manufacturing environmentExperience in a machining roleExperience of CNC Programming/machiningUnderstanding of Lean manufacturing tools/techniquesPlease apply ASAPUnderstanding of Lean manufacturing tools/techniques
